If you're a resident of Barcelona, Spain,
you can buy an annual access card
for a very reasonable amount
and have access
to bicycles in bicing stands located
all around the city.
You can pick it up at any stand,
and put it back at any other location.
Problem is you can only use a bike
for half an hour at the time.
And if the bike stand you get to is full
you might have a problem.
If you go over time there's an extra charge.
Thus the bikes stands were almost always full.
Few dares to use the bikes.
A pity on such a sweet concept.
But I guess they will tweak it and soon it will be
a greatly used way for the Barcelonians
to get around their beautiful city.
