this is america - pillars


It's kind of weird, when I took this photograph
I did so because I saw some beauty in this actually rather ugly place.
A railroad underpass in South Orange, New Jersey.
The camera eye sees it differently than a person's eye.
Where the human eye sees gloom and neglect,
the camera picks up on different aspects of the place.
Do they say the camera doesn't lie?

This isn't just a beautiful shot Torre, it's an incredibly original one too. Never saw anything quite like it, and I grew up there!

I agree, its's a great shot. The golden light on the stars is very striking, kind of dream-like.
